Point of sale for convenience stores

Ring up a busy counter quickly, check IDs for tobacco and alcohol, take EBT, and keep track of lottery and tobacco rebates on a register that keeps selling when the internet goes down.

What a convenience store needs from its register

These come with BuiltPOS or switch on from BuiltOFFICE. Each one links to the full module.

ID checks at the register

When an item needs an ID, the register asks before the item is added. Scan the barcode on the back of a driver's license with the device camera or a 2D scanner, or key in the date of birth. Every check is logged and shows up in a report.

Age Pro, an add-on, keeps a profile of returning customers. It stores a one-way hash of the ID, never the ID number.

About Age Pro

EBT/SNAP

Mark which products are SNAP eligible. When a customer pays with EBT, tax comes off the eligible items, and the rest of the sale can go on cash or card.

About EBT payments

Deals that apply as you scan

Set up mix and match deals such as any two for $4.00, buy one get one, sale prices and amounts off. The register applies them as items are scanned.

About the register

Packs and singles

Give a pack its own barcode and price while stock is counted in singles, so selling a six-pack takes six from stock and a single takes one.

About inventory

Lottery

Activate scratch-off books, pay out winners from the drawer, and count each book by the next ticket to sell at the end of a shift. The count sits beside the lottery sales rung up, so you can see if you are short or over. Commission is worked out for you.

About lottery tracking

Tobacco scan data

A weekly file is built from your sales and sent to Altria, including Philip Morris USA, so you get the buydowns you qualify for. RJ Reynolds and ITG Brands are being rolled out.

How scan data works

Distributor invoices into stock

Vendor invoices download on their own. BuiltOFFICE tells you when one arrives, and an owner or manager reviews it before it goes into stock.

About EDI invoicing

Keeps selling offline

Each register records its sales on the device when the internet is down. Several registers in one store share stock, and everything syncs when the connection comes back.

About several registers
